A must go to staple in St Pete. Besides the food being absolutely delicious, The owner, Thuy and server Ethan were absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed and cared for. You can tell they truly value their guests and go above and beyond to make the experience special. Highly recommend!
Amazing food, portions, and value. We ordered the fresh rolls, lemongrass beef rice dish, and specialty pho. There for lunch, the prices were excellent and the serving size was large. But what would bring us back was the excellent flavors. It was all so so good.
Best Vietnamese food in St. Petersburg! I have dined at La V many times and my meals are consistently exceptional. The pork vermicelli bowl is my favorite dish on the menu. If given a choice for my final meal on the planet I'd pick this one. I also really enjoy the shrimp fresh rolls. Their pork banh mi sandwiches are also exceptionally good. Everything about Vietnamese food feels more healthy than traditional American dining options. Meals are very delicious and I never feel like I'm eating something unhealthy. The wait staff here is always incredibly friendly. The owner of the restaurant, Thuy Le is also gracious and treats you like you're a member of the family or longtime friend. I always leave here happy and look forward to my next visit.
5 stars — Absolutely Incredible Experience! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This hidden gem of a Vietnamese restaurant is an absolute treasure. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by the owner, who is one of the most genuinely kind and welcoming people I’ve ever met in the restaurant world. And the pho… WOW. Rich, flavorful broth that clearly took hours (if not days!) to perfect, tender slices of meat, and fresh herbs that brought everything together beautifully. It’s honestly some of the best pho I’ve ever had—comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious. You can feel the love and care put into every dish and every interaction here. The service was just as memorable as the food, and it’s rare to find a place that gets both so right. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Vietnamese food—or anyone who just loves good people and good meals. This is the kind of place that restores your faith in small, family-run businesses
This place absolutely slays. There’s some text painted on the wall saying they aim to keep oil to a minimum. The mottos simple, “To cook your meal like they are making it for their family.” So! The lunch special was super affordable at $12 a dish. The chicken curry had this amazing flavor with hints of pepper and yellow curry flavor. The chicken was so succulent and savory. The potatoes in it were a nice touch as they were soft and almost blend into the sauce. It went well over rice. The pan fried onion garnish was bursting with flavor. The Beef Salad was our favorite. The helping was twice what I expected for the price. I really got my fill of veggies and beef. The beef was just to die for. Crispy, hot, tender. A well balanced marinade of sweet and salty. I am a low sodium, low fat calisthenics enthusiast and this was perfect sodium wise for me. Would recommend. 5/5 for sure. Service was polite and good with checking for my partners allergies. We’re both big protein eaters and three lunch items came out to 44 with tip. Plus a Togo box of chicken and beef left!
