We went here for a nice date night and were blown away by the service and the food. 11/10!! My husband and I are foodies, so we had to try a few things. Here's what we got and what we thought. We got the spicy bacon Caesar, which was more smokey than spicy and had amazing flavor! The lobster ceviche was very fresh with perfect texture, and the citrus and cilantro notes were refreshing. It paired extremely well with the salty umami of the nori crisps. The bone marrow with short rib was hands down the best thing we had all night, a religious experience really! Perfectly crafted savory bite. I got the pork chop with bacon and mustard, served with crispy sweet potato curls. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, and the flavors in both the pan sauce and the bacon mustard topping were very savory and complimentary. The sweet potato curls were a bit too sweet for my taste, so I didn't eat them all, however they were very good when they softened a bit in the savory pork drippings. My husband got the prime filet with caramelized shallots and truffle butter. The truffle butter was yummy and not overpowering, if you know what I mean in regards to truffle. The shallots had a really nice flavor; slightly sweet, almost as if they had been caramelized with something like a port wine. The mac and cheese was a good texture and had a nice amount of cheese sauce, but it was rather simple. This is fine if you're eating it in a bite with something on your plate already like steak or pork, but if you're eating it alone it could benefit from some fresh cracked pepper. That is our biased and personal opinion though. The apple tart was a very well crafted dessert, and worth returning for like the bone marrow! The cinnamon gellie¿ was arguably the best part of it all, which made a heavenly bite when eaten with their house made vanilla bean ice cream. The flourless chocolate torte was nice as well, very rich and served with some fresh berries. This was a more firm/dry of a chocolate torte. This would pair well with a dessert cocktail. I asked for a mocktail since I was not choosing alcohol this evening, and I was presented with a few options which was great. I chose their "fauxjito" which had muddled blueberries, mint and lime juice. Very tasty! My husband got the smoked old fashioned, which not only smelled and tasted great, but had a fun presentation as well. Overall amazing experience, and our server Jeremy was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Came here with business associates. Great wine selection on and off the menu. Appetizers looked great but we came here for steak. The ribeye was a beautiful cut and we all enjoyed our steaks. Sides were nice but very traditional. Desserts were really good. Cheesecake was very unique. Worth a visit if you are looking for a traditional steakhouse.
I have been meaning to try Rococo for dinner for a while now. I’ve had their happy hour menu years ago which was also great. I have to say from the cozy atmosphere to the food, Rococo didn’t disappoint. Every bite of every dish was delicious.
My husband and I were married the day after Hurricane Helene passed through the area. We planned to have dinner with our families after the wedding at Rococo. Audrey and the staff at Rococo were amazing. Audrey communicated early that morning that our reservation would be kept. The banquet room we reserved was decorated beautifully with fresh flowers and candles with our wedding colors. Our families only had great things to say about the food and service. We also appreciated that there was an elevator for my elderly grandmother to get to the 2nd floor, where our banquet room was located. Thank you, Rococo staff, for helping our dinner experience be smooth and memorable!
Rococo Steak, is a restored former YWCA building in St. Petersburg, Florida, showcases an exquisite French Rococo style and design aesthetic. Renowned for its exceptional culinary offerings, the restaurant prides itself on serving premium Allen Brothers Beef sourced from Chicago. Recently, four of us had the pleasure of dining at this establishment, and upon our arrival, we were graciously welcomed by the doorman and promptly introduced to our hostess. She then kindly escorted us to our reserved table. The thoughtfully designed layout of the restaurant ensured a conducive and comfortable atmosphere for our table conversations. We unanimously decided on steak, opting for the tender fillet and the flavorful New York strip. Each steak was expertly prepared to our desired temperature, and the sommelier's wine pairing recommendations proved to be remarkably accurate and complementary to our meal. While our server demonstrated competence, there was a slight misunderstanding when they were explaining the distinction between Angus beef and prime-rated beef. Additionally, a touch more discretion could have been exercised when approaching our table. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable dining experience, and we departed with great satisfaction from the exceptional meal and ambiance. Rococo Steak will rank highly on my list of fine steakhouses.
