Stumbled across this while out for Sunday Funday pub hopping, I'm from Germany, had to check it out! Place is great! Nice decor with a Euro vibe, real friendly host/server/bartender! Had to try the CurryWurst (I'm from Berlin, these are a must) it did not disappoint!!! While the curry sauce wasn't what I'm used to it was GOOD! You have to get the plate with a side of the curry sauce & mayo (for the fries) do NOT skip the mayo. Very good! The brat and sauerkraut were delicious as well, not many 'on tap' options for german beer, but what they had was also good! Def recommend and I'll gladly stop by here again when in St. Pete!
German Knodle is easily my favorite restaurant on Central! Every single time I go, the food is consistently amazing, and the service is always attentive. My go-to order is the Jäger schnitzel with a side of fries. The schnitzel comes with two pieces, so the portion is huge—perfect for taking some home for another meal or splitting with my boyfriend. And the fries? Crispy, garlicky, and absolutely delicious. I’ve been here so many times, and it never disappoints. 10/10 recommend!
The schnitzel was outstanding and the beer was cold and delicious. The service was great and the German potato salad was amazing. This is hands down the best food I have had in St. Pete. I we would recommend it and will be back
We were having a runaway play day and went to downtown Saint Pete and there’s so many options down there but when we saw the German restaurant, we had to dive in. We have been missing German food. I had the bratwurst with Kraut and German potato salad. Potato salad was interesting. It wasn’t warm with bacon. It was cold with onion and vinegar flavor and it was absolutely fabulous. The Sauerkraut was very flavorful. It wasn’t as sour as I had growing up, but it was darker and had different flavoring added to it
First time here and had the Bratwurst with sauerkraut. Day after Hurricane Milton hit so that was the only thing to order and both times were really good. Can't wait to try other items on the in the future.
