It's a great place to get back on your feet and to reconnect with God. I was there for almost 9 months and am very grateful for their services. A few things I could highly recommend are that there needs to be a better plan to help the clients seek and find employment as some of the clients have faced unfortunate situations and are anxiety ridden and have trouble doing interviews and just getting out of the house because of anxiety. There is counseling offered by a very nice lady Miss.D that you can do zoom counseling with once a week which is great but the staff should be in my opinion more involved with each individual and coaching daily. There should also be a more aggressive relapse plan as a few clients have relapsed and eventually brought back to the program after being sent to an outside source 2 weeks to 30 days but I have talked to in my 9 months there to everyone who relapsed and they all had the same opinion that it's more of a place to hang out until their time is up and they are allowed to come back to the program. Also there are classes at the outside relapse facility but from what I understand it's not aggressive enough and there's no really getting to know the clients in a genuine way. The getting to really know and spend genuine time with the clients at the rock personally could definitely use a boost as well. Some of the clients also come in with nothing and it would be helpful if they could receive vouchers in order to visit the local thrift stores to get clothes, shoes etc. The things I wrote about above are not complaints but recommendations that will help the clients have a better experience with less anxiety. I have seen and experienced quite a few clients leave/ relapse because they felt the staff was not more comforting and was not as personable as they could have been. I also understand that no place, person or facility is perfect but when you have peoples lives in your hands and as a flock you have to be more personable. The office staff Mrs.Olga, Mrs.Jenn and Mrs. Megan are amazing and a joy to talk to and interact with and thank y'all for everything as they did all they could office wise plus they were very personable. The pastor teached directly from the Bible which I enjoyed and is very knowledgeable (I was told the main pastor Rob has resigned since) but he was all about God and like I said above was a fanominal teacher of the word of God. The assistant pastor Howard's heart is with God seemed genuine and he was a man of God but he could have been more personable and patient with some of the clients but I am still thankful for him as well 🙏. Again no one is perfect but also a few of the housemen should not be in that position working with clients or being a leader in the church and that person is Chris who was a houseman and pastor Howard's assistant. He's a good person but has no business being a leader in any way. We had some good conversations but he has severe mood swings which has affected the house he was over and other clients as well because how he would ignore some people for no reason. I pray every day for this facility, the staff as well as the clients 🙏✅😁!! Real quick they also have people that come in and teach about the Bible and other topics throughout the week which I enjoyed too. My main goal here was to address being more personable and comforting with the clients, improve the anxiety issue with clients that need to find work through being proactive with the ones needing more specialized handling and spending time with the "flock" in general going to different places to attend meetings with transportation provided and going to outside events and speakers, having cookouts and doing street ministry..✅😁!! I am super grateful for what I got out of the program. God bless 🙏!!
I came to The Rock back in 2017, it's where I found God. This place has a special place in my heart it's where I found to tools for help live a new way of life. I will always be forever grateful for the people that helped make that community.
The best church ever! So much love and they run an addiction recovery program and a Christian sober living community with affordable shared housing. They also run a food pantry and have many volunteer positions. Service is Sunday at 10am and we'd at 7pm
I have found this Church to meet people right where they are at, with a kind & Loving non Judgemental attitude. Only want to Baptize In JESUS Name & Praise JESUS by HIS Teachings
Hey, I drive by this place almost daily as I live nearby. As I write, I'm watching a news story about how a pastor named Robert Dell is charged with using recovering addicts from their halfway house to steal over $3M worth of merchandise from Home Depot! Good job! Thought you all should know if you're checking it out. Edit: I love how, after one year of this being posted, about 300 people saw this review. Only one user took a fraction of a second to "like" it. I really can't care less about points or likes or dumb crap like that, but...The whole point was to keep vulnerable people from harm. Maybe we should all use the internet for good sometimes, yes? Share the stories that can help people.
